Surviving Online for a Semester

They are three students from different universities who won a contest run by levi.com, and are buying everything they need to survive during this semester online. One of the three is University of Pennsylvania senior Tomiko Jones...

"I think this is an experiment. They're trying to see whether we can survive online. It's nothing that's been done before, but everyone knows it's possible to buy an abundance of things online and I think they're trying to see if we can actually survive online with this weekly allowance."
Tomiko survived a spring break trip to Cancun purchased online. Levi's is giving each of the students a generous five hundred dollars a week. They all have to participate in a weekly webcast from their dorm rooms. As far as buying everything else she needs on the web, Tomiko says she's managing..

"I actually found a site called mybasics.com, and on that site I can buy shampoo and conditioner, little things that you would need if you were to run into a drug store, toothpaste, deodorant, basic necessities."And it's all shipped to you... "Mmm hmm."

You have to think ahead. And when it comes to food...

"I visited netgrocer.com and bought at least two hundred dollars worth of groceries. So I'm surviving.
You can find Tomiko and her fellow online survivalists at levi.com.
