"Super 8" Trailer Unveils In US Theaters

J.J. Abrams is at it again with his under-the-table project, "Super 8."

The "Lost" and "Fringe" creator showcased a 90-second trailer of his new action-packed collaboration with Steven Spielberg before the midnight screening of "Iron Man 2" on Friday. Soon after, a leaked version made its way to the Internet.

The soft-focused trailer immediately starts out with a truck crashing into a train and the scene is interrupted with a frame that reads, "In 1979, the US Air Force closed a section of Area 51. All materials were to be transported to a secure facility in Ohio." In the midst of the rummage, an unknown being violently attempts to break free.

Similar to the way he released "Cloverfield," the trailer leaves much to the imagination. But the collaboration alone between Abrams and Spielberg is enough to excite viewers. Abrams, who wrote the script, will direct the film with Spielberg as producer.

The movie is slated for a summer 2011 release date.
