Shooting At Kansas City Block Party
Up to six people were shot Wednesday night after a fight broke out at a neighborhood July 4th block party, police said.
Officers responded to calls from the area around 8:18 p.m. and received calls of additional shooting victims showing up at local hospitals. They said two victims were treated and released while two others were seriously injured, including one described as having "potentially life threatening" wounds.
Witnesses told police about 200 people were at the block party when a verbal confrontation got physical and then gunshots were fired.
Police said they don't know how many people fired shots and few witnesses stuck around to give investigators additional details.
