Shondaland cast members name favorite onscreen couples

Bellamy Young of "Scandal" told Entertainment Weekly it's hard to pick a favorite relationship out of Shonda Rhimes' dramas, simply because there are so many great ones.

"There's a lot of love in Shondaland," said Young.

Still, she "ships" the most for the relationship between Melody "Mellie" Grant and Olivia Pope. "It's not a romantic love," she explained. "But it's an incredible partnership."

To TV fans, "shipping" means to cheer on a relationship on a show.

Other Shondaland actors chimed in with their picks, and unsurprisingly, many of them picked the ones involving their own characters.

Relationships with Olivia Pope were particularly popular: Tony Goldwyn of "Scandal" said his favorite relationship was the one between his character Fitz and Kerry Washington's Olivia, but he said he supports the relationship between the entire cast even more.

"We ship each other really hard," said Goldwyn.

Viola Davis also picked her character Annalise's relationship on drama "How to Get Away with Murder."

"Me and Wes," she said. "I love that relationship because I think it's a mix of a maternal relationship but also at the same time it's a great kind of twisted student, demented teacher, demented mentor relationship, plus Alfie -- he's cute."

"Grey's Anatomy" star Ellen Pompeo said, "I ship Slexie," meaning Mark Sloan and Lexie Grey. But Aja Naomi King of "How to Get Away with Murder" said her favorite Shondaland relationship isn't from her own show, but the friendship between Meredith Grey and Cristina Yang.

Matt Mcgorry changed his mind between a few relationships on "How to Get Away with Murder," until finally, he said, "What about all of us being together?"

Seems like a common theme in Shondaland -- we can ship for that. Watch EW's video to find out who everyone is shipping for.
