Senate Republicans Demand ACORN Investigation
Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee maintained the conservative drumbeat against ACORN on Monday, demanding an investigation into claims of voter registration fraud at the community activist group.
All nine Republicans on the panel -- including ranking member Sen. Arlen Specter-- co-signed a letter to committee chairman Sen. Patrick Leahy demanding an investigation into allegations of “widespread, systematic voter registration fraud” at ACORN.
House Republicans have made similar calls to investigate the group. Democrats, however, have been cool to the idea, and seem highly unlikely to launch any inquiries before the election.
A spokesman for Leahy declined to comment on matter at this time.
