Report: Mahdawi Succeeds Mughniya in Hezbullah
Corriere Della Sera:
Iran sent an intelligence official called Mohammed Reda Zahedi, who is known as Hassan Mahdawi, to replace Shiite militant group Hezullahʼs military commander Emad Mughniyah, who was assassinated in Damascus last February, according to the Italian newspaper Corriere Della Sera. The paper, which quoted Lebanese sources, said thereʼs little information known about Mahdawi other than being the second man at the Iranian embassy in Lebanon from 1998 to 2000 and being a former member of the special Al Quds Force.
