Reid: 'Nothing' Will Come Out Of White House Meeting
Moments ago, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid gave a terse one-word answer when asked by a reporter what he thought would come out of a meeting Thursday afternoon at the White House.
“Nothing,” Reid replied.
Reid and other congressional leaders will meet with President Bush and the presidential candidates to discuss the proposed bailout legislation.
After the press briefing, Reid told Politico he was “being a little facetious” with the comment, but still did not predict a breakthrough following the meeting.
“We will probably take pictures and shake hands,” he said, “It will not be a negotiation; it will be a photo-op.”
