Reid Hails Bailout Passage

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid praised the House for passing the bailout on Friday afternoon.

“This shows what we can get done when we work in a bipartisan way to address critical challenges," Reid said in a statement.

“This is not a perfect bill by any means, but it is much improved from the Administration’s initial proposal. It will help instill confidence in and stabilize our economy, and will protect Main Street from the crisis on Wall Street. It also cuts taxes for middle-class families and creates jobs here at home.”
