Reed To Deliver Democratic Response To Bush

Sen. Jack Reed (D-R.I.) will give the Democratic response tonight after President Bush delivers his reaction to the progress report in Iraq during a prime-time address Thursday night.

Reed, a former Army Ranger and consistent critic of the war, co-authored an open-ended phased redeployment plan that is still percolating in the Senate as a response to whatever recommendations Bush makes.

House Intelligence Chairman Silvestre Reyes, a Vietnam veteran, will deliver the Democratic response in Spanish.
