"Reality Bites" headed for the small screen

Will reality bite again?

A reboot of 1994 film "Reality Bites" is expected to hit the small screen with a two of the original cast and crew members at the helm.

Ben Stiller, director and co-star in the movie, along with "Reality Bites" writer Helen Childress, are joining forces to create a TV comedy set to air on NBC, reports Deadline. The single-camera series would follow the lead character from the movie, recent college graduate Lelaina Pierce, who was played by Winona Ryder in the film. Set in Houston in the 1990s, the show would chronicle Pierce's ups and downs as she navigates romance and work, alongside her "slacker" friends. In the movie those pals were portrayed by Stiller, Ethan Hawke, Janeane Garofalo and Steve Zahn.

The soundtrack to film featured Lisa Loeb's "Stay (I Missed You)," along with songs by Squeeze, Lenny Kravitz, U2 and Crowded House.
