Pumpkin Picking In Cyberspace

With Halloween just around the corner, you might be thinking about finding that perfect pumpkin. This year you may want to start your search in cyberspace, reports Correspondent Bill Wood of CBS Affiliate KRQE-TV in Albuquerque, N.M.

From the middle of his New Mexico pumpkin patch, Scott Klein has brought this favorite orange vegetable to the World Wide Web.

"I'm very proud of my pumpkins," Klein says. "It's not everyone that goes out and does this."

Klein says that there is no pride like pumpkin pride. He brought his pumpkin patch online to reach out to anywhere in the world. He felt nobody should go pumpkinless during the most pumpkin-filled time of year.

"What is it about me and pumpkins? I don't know," Klein says.

Earlier this week, Klein painted faces on pumpkins. But it was not until he put them on the Web that he felt his project was complete — like getting a Ph.D degree in pumpkinology, he says.

Klein says he thinks his passion for pumpkins has something to do with their color.
