Most people, when they dine out, have an implicit trust in the restaurant where they eat. They trust the way the food is handled, that it is fresh, that the dishes are washed, and the conditions are sanitary. Unfortunately, as reported on Public Eye With Bryant Gumbel, this trust is often misplaced.

In an eye-opening hidden camera investigation, Public Eye exposed how all too often:

  • food is handled by workers with unwashed hands, or unhygienic habits

  • food, including uncooked meat and seafood, is left sitting out for long periods of time

  • food is kept in areas infested with cockroaches and rats

  • food is dropped on the floor, picked up and re-used
