Prosecution Rests In Stevens Corruption Case
After hearing testimony from Dave Anderson, a former Veco employee, the prosecution has rested.
Judge Emmet Sullivan will now hear arguments from both sides on a motion for acquittal by defense counsel. That will commence after 2 p.m. and should last at least an hour. If Judge Sullivan doesn't dismiss the case, then defense witnesses will start later in the afternoon. Sen. Daniel Inouye (D-Hawaii) is expected to appear today, and former Secretary of State Colin Powell is expected on the stand on Friday.
