Police looking for 14-year-old suspect in Oakland sex assaults

CBS San Francisco

(CBS) OAKLAND, Calif. - Oakland police say they're looking for a 14-year-old they suspect in two separate sexual assaults and robberies last week.

Police say the attacks took place in Oakland on the nights of January 6 and 12, reports CBS San Francisco. The victims, both 28, were approached by a person who simulated having a firearm. In each case, the suspect robbed the victim and then forced her to an isolated area where he sexually assaulted her.

Police identified the suspect as Brionn Glasper, an African American male, 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing 110 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes, reports CBS San Francisco.

Oakland police spokeswoman Johnna Watson reportedly says it is unusual for them to release the identity of a minor in an ongoing investigation.

"We're dealing with a juvenile so the law does not allow us to release his photo to the media and to make the public aware of this particular threat to the community," said Watson. "But the law does allow us to release his name and a physical description."

CBS San Francisco reports Oakland police are asking for the public's help in finding the suspect. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Youth and Family Services Division at (510) 238-3641.
