Pixies announces "Doolittle" Lost Cities tour

(CBS) The Pixies will take to the road in the U.S. this fall on the 2011 "Doolittle" Lost Cities tour, writing on its website, "playing cities we've never visited across the US of A."

The band made the announcement via Tuesday morning. A ticket presale will begin later in the week. The time and date will be given to members of the band's e-mail list. Tickets to the general public go on sale July 15.

Nov. 8 - War Memorial Auditorium, Greensboro, N.C.
Nov. 9 - Louisville Palace Theatre, Louisville, Ky.
Nov. 10 - Tennessee Theatre, Knoxville, Tenn.
Nov. 11 - North Charleston Performing Arts Center, North Charleston, S.C. (through this date with Surfer Blood)

The band began playing "Doolittle" 20th anniversary shows in 2009. The album "Doolittle" was released in April 1989.
