Picking The Proper Garden Plants
With spring here, gardeners across the country are heading out to nurseries, looking for the perfect plants.
But many aren't sure of what they're doing.
The Early Show's gardening guru, Charlie Dimmock, recently visited her local nursery in England to show viewers what to look for and, perhaps more importantly, what to steer clear of.
She also shows a smart way to "package" plants when transporting them home, and what to do with them once you get them home, but before you plant.
One quick word of advice from Dimmock: Garden centers spend a lot of money on labeling for their plants, and it's worth reading the labels. They tell what the plant, is when it flowers, what conditions it likes, and how big it gets. Oh, and also how much costs.
