PETA Places Billboards In Wake Of Tiller Murder

(PETA)
WICHITA, Kan. (CBS/AP) An animal rights group has latched onto the killing of a Kansas abortion provider to promote its message.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, or PETA, says it plans to place two billboards in Wichita in the wake of the shooting death of Dr. George Tiller.

One billboard reads, "Pro-Life? Go Vegetarian." The other says, "Pro-Choice? Choose Vegetarian."

According to a press release from PETA's Website, The group hopes that the ads will help Wichita residents on both sides of the controversy find common ground.

"People who are pro-choice shouldn't choose cruelly produced foods, just as pro-life folks shouldn't support deadly slaughterhouses," says PETA Vice President Bruce Friedrich. "It's time for everyone to reject violence and live up to their ideals--if you're truly acting out of a desire to end suffering, start with what you put on your plate."
