Paris Keeps Busy Writing Letters To Fans

There's not much for Paris Hilton to do as she sits in the slammer, but she has found pleasure in reading and responding to the bundles of fan mail she's been receiving.

On his KIIS-FM morning show, Ryan Seacrest read a letter from Paris that a fan received and sent to E! News.

"Just wanted to thank you for your kind words of love and support," Seacrest read from the hand-written letter. "The fact that you took time out of your day to write me truly means the world, especially in such a difficult and scary time of my life.'"

Hilton went on to say that she's trying to be strong and make the best of her situation. She said that the letters lift her spirits as she sits in her cell "sad and alone."

Seacrest's co-host, Ellen K, pointed out that handwriting letters is probably a new experience for the heiress, who usually communicates via text message through her ubiquitous Sidekick.

"There's no misspellings here on the page," Seacrest pointed out. He added that there will be more coverage about Hilton's missives from the joint on Wednesday's edition of E! News, which he co-anchors with Giuliana DePandi.

Hilton is expected to released from jail on Monday, June 25 after serving 23 days of her 45-day sentence for violating her probation.
