Palin Stumps In "Joe The Plumber" Country

(CBS)
From CBS News' Scott Conroy:

(TOLEDO, OHIO) - Before joining up with John McCain for rallies in Green and Cincinnati, Sarah Palin will first have a solo appearance in the northwest Ohio city of Findlay this morning.

Findlay happens to lie less than 50 miles from Holland—the hometown of Joe Wurzelbacher (better known as Joe The Plumber)—but the McCain/Palin campaign won't confirm or deny whether Joe will attend the rally.

A cameo by Joe would surely bring an additional jolt of electricity to the event. After Wurzelbacher became the focal point of the last presidential debate, Palin initially begged her campaign staff not to make her talk about him. Since then, the Alaska governor has mentioned Joe The Plumber at nearly every public appearance, defending him from Barack Obama's "media friends" who have been "roughing him up."

"So tell me do we have any Joe the Plumbers in the house?" Palin asked the cheering crowd in Grand Junction, Colorado, on Monday. "So all these Joe the Plumbers in the house, it doesn't sound like you are supporting Barack the Wealth Spender in this election."
