Obama Has More Supers, Clyburn Says
Rep. James Clyburn, (D-S.C.) told reporters today that Sen. Barack Obama is winning the race for superdelegates.
Clyburn, the House majority whip, said Obama campaign sources have told him they are leading among unpledged Democratic delegates, according to a report in The State.
Pressed on where he got the information, Clyburn said he couldn't remember.
Clyburn also said he and other House leaders did not have plans to endorse either Obama or Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton as superdelegates. Clyburn did say that he, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) and other leaders would decide as a team when they would endorse.
