Obama calls Bush after heart procedure

As former President George W. Bush continues recovering from his recent heart procedure, he received a call on Wednesday from President Obama, who wished him well, the White House said Thursday.

"The President did speak with former President Bush yesterday to wish him well and is glad to hear the procedure went well and that former President Bush is recovering," White House press secretary Jay Carney said.

The former president, a physically active 67-year-old, surprised some by undergoing a procedure on Tuesday to open a blocked artery using a stent. Doctors found the blockage during a routine physical on Monday and recommended the procedure.

Following the surgery, he returned home from the hospital on Wednesday, and his spokesman Freddy Ford said he's "doing great."
