No Deal Without House Republicans, Harry Says
Harry Reid, speaking at a press conference just now, reeled back the notion that there was ever a "deal" yesterday and echoes House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in saying there won't be an agreement without the support of House Republicans.
Reid, citing resistance to the bailout from his hometown of Searchlight, Nev., called upon all parties to drink from the poison chalice.
"It's very unpopular," he said of the plan. "But just because something at first glance seems unpopular doesn’t mean we shouldn’t react to it... We have an obligation to the country."
