It has become so popular among real pilots that this year, they get their own version. Product planner and flight instructor Bruce Williams...

"There's Flight Simulator 2000 and Flight Simulator 2000 Professional Edition."
It packs the kind of detail certificated pilots have been clamoring for. How realistic can they make this?

"This time out we have what we call a digital elevation mesh, real terrain over the entire world."
With a connection to the Internet, you can download current worldwide weather information before you take off. Take your pick of aircraft ranging from a Cessna to a Concorde....choose from among 21 thousand airports around the world...and climb in the cockpit... (sound)

"We're authentic right down to the sounds. We actually go into the real airplanes that we simulate in Flight Simulator and place microphones all over the airplane and get interior and exterior sounds so that the sounds you hear...particularly this one you just heard of the start up of the King Air, you hear the turbine spooling up."
Flight Simulator 2000 sells for about 60 dollars. Twenty dollars more for the Professional Edition.
