Naked Man Caught on Camera in Miss. Cemetery, Taking Pictures of "Spirits"

Naked Man Caught on Camera in Miss. Cemetery

PICAYUNE, Miss. (CBS/AP) A man caught naked in a south Mississippi cemetery was able to offer an explanation to police.

He was trying to take photographs of spirits.

Robert Hurst told The Picayune Item newspaper that he stripped naked because he believes skin is the best canvas to show spirits' orbs of energy.

The 47-year-old says he only intended to remove his shirt, but he took off all his clothes - a move he now calls "stupid."

Authorities in Peal River County, Miss. had set up a motion-activated camera in the church cemetery to try to catch vandals.

Instead, the camera caught an unexpected image of Robert Hurst naked, and when police caught up with him, he was charged not with vandalism, but with indecent exposure.

After the spirit apparently moved Hurst to turn himself in Friday, he posted a $500 bond.
