Moose on the loose triggers Utah police chase
(CBS/AP) LOGAN, Utah - A "bull moose party" didn't last very long once police took up the chase for the wandering animal on a stroll through neighborhoods north of Logan.
Officers with the Division of Wildlife Resources tried to corner the wandering bull moose Wednesday morning when the animal ran away. It was soon stopped with a tranquilizer dart, rolled onto a large tarp, and lifted into a trailer.
Authorities said a wildlife biologist would test the animal's blood before it is released into the wild, most likely into Utah's Blacksmith Fork Canyon.
They say most of the 'moose calls' come in the winter, but every so often, in the early spring.
