NEW YORK (CBS) Seems as though Miley Cyrus can't be bothered with the blogger-ignited photo "controversy" as she presses forward with the release of her upcoming album "Can't Be Tamed."

Cyrus will stream a global performance of her new album for free across MTV Networks websites on Monday, June 21 - the same day her album hits stores. The event was taped live from the House of Blues in Los Angeles.

"I'm so excited to perform my new music live in concert on the night of my album release," Cyrus, 17, said in a press release announcing the show.

But could the underwear controversy actually help shift units for the growing pop star?

Cyrus was in the news earlier this week because a blogger claimed to have posted a picture of her getting out of a car in which you could see she wore no underwear. He took it down after quetsions about child pornography were raised and later claimed the teen singer was wearing underwear.

According to People.com, blogger Perez Hilton, 32, talked down photo controversy calling it "fake." He said, "Sure, I like to be controversial, but I don't want to go to jail." He then adds that Cyrus was "clearly" not showing anything inappropriate.

As for Cyrus, who spoke to Ryan Secrest on his KIIS-FM radio show about the controversy, she responded: "That's some idiot being an idiot. Isn't it funny that things like that, that are so negative have to come out right before my record?"

Whether the image is a mere marketing ploy is certainly up to speculation.

On Wednesday, People.com reported that a smiling Cyrus was spotted out with boyfriend Liam Hemsworth, 20, and she told Ryan Seacrest that she's just focusing on "the positive and I hope this record does well."

Cyrus' promotional blitz continues this weekend as the singer teams up with Bret Michaels on ABC's "Good Morning America" this Friday and will also co-host the 2010 MuchMusic Video Awards on Sunday.
