Updated at 6:23 p.m. ET

In a chat with Washington Gov. Christine Gregoire after winning $190 million in this week's Mega Millions lottery, Jim McCullar said he understands the Evergreen State's finances might be in trouble but "my budget right now is all I can worry about."

McCullar and his wife Carolyn McCullar brought their family to Olympia, the state capital, Thursday to claim the winnings from the ticket purchased at a supermarket in the small town of Ephrata.

"At the time, we thought it was 355 million," Jim McCullar told reporters of the moment the couple learned of the results. "Oh well. I think 190 million is pretty good for an ol' Mississippi boy."

Meanwhile, officials in Idaho are waiting for another lucky ticket-holder to come forward and claim their half in the $380 million lottery.

Jim McCullar described the win as one of the three times he's been lucky in his life. The other two times include meeting his wife and winning more than $10,000 in Keno.

McCullar said he woke up his wife after the drawing on Tuesday to tell her they had won. The winning numbers were 4, 8, 15, 25 and 47, with the Mega ball number of 42.

"I was pale, shaking. She thought I was having a heart attack," he said.

She asked him how he was.

He told her: "I'm perfect."

In Washington, no state taxes would apply. The lump sum payment would be $90 million after the 25 percent federal tax.

Jim McCullar said the couple plan to make sure the money will provide financial security for future generations of the McCullars.

"We're not going to blow this," Jim McCullar said. "We're just not going to blow it."
