(CBS) Marie Osmond remarried first husband Stephen Craig on Wednesday, and her wedding dress was her "something old."

The singer reused the same Ret Turner gown she wore when she and Craig first wed in 1982.

Osmond told ET Online that she had a new dress designed for the big day, but when it arrived it just was "not right."

But then, she said, she stumbled upon the old one by chance.

"I was cleaning out my garage and all of a sudden this box showed up in this pile of stuff ... and it was this dress and it was five days ago. I'm not kidding. Isn't that crazy?" she said. "I can't breathe, but I'm in it."

The wedding date, the singer explained, was also significant: it's the birthday of her son Michael, who committed suicide last year, and also the birthday of her late mother.

Osmond, 51, told ET that she's happy with her new marriage, and it was the couple's son Stephen, now 28, who brought them back together.

"Some things I guess were just always meant to be, and time makes you grow up and appreciate things," she said. "Life is good, you know?"

She and Craig divorced in 1985. Osmond married music producer Brian Blosil in 1986. They had two children and adopted five more before divorcing in 2007.
