Madonna posts pic of estranged son Rocco on Instagram

Madonna's son Rocco might not be happy with his mom, but the "Material Girl" wants him to know that he is the "sunshine" of her life.

The pop star is currently embroiled in a custody battle over the 15-year-old, who wants to live with his dad, filmmaker Guy Ritchie. Clearly, Madonna wants her son to know she is thinking of him. She posted a throwback photo of her son and wished him well: "Merry X-mas to the Sun-shine of my Life!"

Rocco wants to stay in London with his father, but a New York judge ordered him to return stateside to deal with the proceedings in court, and he needs to come back before school starts again after the holiday break.

Though Rocco's lawyer said he does not want to return to New York, Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Deborah Kaplan said if the teen wants to live in London, he needs to come back to New York first to make it official.

"I'm directing the child to be returned to New York. If he wants to stay with his father, he must return to his mother," Kaplan told Madonna, who appeared in court for a hearing on Wednesday.

Madonna also posted fawning photos of her other children, Lourdes, David Banda and Mercy James on Instagram. It appeared that only Rocco was the only child not present at the pop queen's Christmas festivities.
