Lockout Keeps Karl From Seattle

The NBA's decision to cancel two more weeks of games because of its lockout means former SuperSonics coach George Karl won't be appearing in Seattle this season.

The only exception would be if the Sonics and the Milwaukee Bucks -- Karl's new team -- meet it to the NBA Finals.

Karl was fired by the Sonics at the end of last season despite coaching them to a 384-150 record in 6 1/2 seasons. His teams in Seattle had a 40-40 record in the playoffs.

The Bucks gave Karl a four-year, $20 million contract.

The league's latest announcement, which scrubbed Milwaukee's only regular-season appearance at the Key Arena on Nov. 29, means the season now can't begin until Dec. 1 at the earliest.
