LAS VEGAS (CBS/AP) Six people suspected in a violent robbery spree, including two teens, have been indicted in the pummeling death of  Las Vegas high school teacher Timothy VanDerbosch.

A Clark County grand jury handed up an indictment Wednesday accusing Saul Favela, 19, of leading three 20-year-olds and two 16-year-olds on the spree that claimed the life of the 50-year-old VanDerbosch, reports The Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Prosecutor Joshua Tomsheck said that the group was excited by random acts of violence, and targeted VanDerbosch in the early morning on Oct. 20 because he was dressed nicely.

"Based on how he was dressed, they decided he probably had some money," Tomsheck said.

Investigators say VanDerbosch, a high school science teacher, was on his way to work when he was attacked. He tried to run, but was chased down, beaten into unconsciousness, and left to die in a street where he was struck by a passing truck.

VanDerbosch later died at University Medical Center.

During a court hearing, Tomsheck said VanDerbosch was the 10th victim of random violence by the suspects.

The group also allegedly attacked a man and a woman walking home from a bus stop, as well as a cab driver who was on his way to his first day on the job.

Despite the cabbie's cooperation, the group robbed and proceeded to stab the man "for absolutely no reason," Tomsheck said.

The prosecutor said all the defendants have fully confessed to the crimes and are scheduled to be arraigned on Dec. 13.
