Lacrosse announcer channels Notorious B.I.G.
(CBS) - Some things are just meant to be together. Chocolate and peanut butter. Salt and pepper. Or, high school lacrosse and 1990's gangster rap. Right?
The announcer in this clip certainly thinks so, breaking off a few rhymes from Biggie Smalls' "Big Poppa" after one team scores a goal. Awkward or amazing? You be the judge.
Actually, maybe don't be the judge. Let's assume it's totally natural for the teams in question (private Maryland high schools Boy's Latin School and McDonogh) to be familiar with the work of murdered hip-hop star Christopher Wallace. How many times have you ever heard song lyrics from an announcer in the middle of a game?
The announcer in question, Booker Corrigan, does play-by-play for Kudda.com, where this clip comes from. No word on his music career, but he's definitely got rhythm. Now all he needs is the appropriate venue.
