NEW YORK (CBS) Five million-plus Twitter followers are currently "Keeping Up With The Kardashians"... Kim Kardashian, that is.
The 29-year-old reality TV star reached the microblogging achievement on Monday night and said she watched the milestone while sitting at her computer.
"Last night I was glued to my laptop when I saw I was close to getting my five millionth follower on Twitter," she wrote on her official blog.
"I couldn't believe it when it happened! Its such a mind blowing feeling to know so many of you are out there reading my tweets," she gushed.
"I can't believe it! I love you so much." Adding, "Thanking her fans, she added, "Twitter is amazing!! It keeps me connected to you guys even when I'm on the go. It's like you are all right there with me. I love that I can ask your advice or your opinion on something and can read your responses straight away... it's just fab!"
The hotly-followed star has been generating much buzz and controversy while using the microblogging service in 2010, she was the subject of death threats by fans of Justin Bieber, who also has more than 5 million followers. Also, she received criticism after Tweeting she wasby a woman breast-feeding a baby at a restaurant.
Kardashian, who is, also has another reason to celebrate as well. She and big sister Kourtney, 30, just nabbed another reality spinoff: "Kourtney and Kim Take New York, set in the Big Apple," debuts January 2011.
