Kicking Off The Weekend

Happy Friday everybody! Today, a couple of my favorite gals stopped by our plaza -- soccer superstars Mia Hamm and Julie Foudy, who are the first women to be inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame.

Mia has always been a fantastic inspiration and role model for many girls, including my own, and I always love seeng her. She and her shortstop hubby, Nomar Garciaparra, had two baby girls 4 1/2 months ago. True to form, she looks incredible! So does Julie, who had a baby girl 8 months ago. Guess that comes with being a dedicated athete.

Mia said she was up at 5 a.m. with the little ones today, so she may have been a bit tired, but that didn't keep her from sticking around and signing tons of autographs afterwards for the adoring kids on the plaza. Maybe when her girls get older they can read their mom's book, "Winners Never Quit," which is a great kids book about Mia as a little girl who couldn't stand losing! We love it in my house.

Check out our chat about motherhood and more, as well as Mia's challenge to me to kick a soccer ball in my high heels. I sent it right into the net with my left foot! Even Mia and Julie were impressed, so that made my day!
