Jilted lover allegedly kills five in Moscow office
Unhinged and mad at the world after being dumped by his girlfriend, a 30-year-old Russian lawyer allegedly went on a shooting rampage in a pharmaceutical office in Moscow where he worked, according to multiple reports.
Dmitry Vinogradov is accused of shooting seven people with shotguns Wednesday at the pharmacy chain Rigla, killing three men and two women, Agence France Presse reports. Vinogradov is currently under arrest and being questioned by authorities.
Before the rampage, AFP reports Vingoradov posted an angry manifesto to the Russian equivalent of Facebook, VKontakte, writing: "I hate human society and being part of it disgusts me! I hate the meaninglessness of human life! I hate the life itself. I see only one way to justify it: to eliminate as many particles of human compost as possible."
Dressed in camouflage gear, Vingradov is believed to have fired shots from the two shotguns he was carrying simultaneously, BBC reports, adding he had allegedly been drinking for five days prior to the rampage.
Russia Today, a state-funded news agency, reports Vinogradov wanted to kill the coworkers he believed had told his girlfriend, Anna, to end their relationship, and he wanted her to watch him kill them.
Vinogradov also allegedly told investigators that he had wanted to kill himself at the end of what turned out to be an 18-second rampage, Russia Today reports, but his ammunition ran out when survivors and then security guards subdued him.
