Jada Pinkett Smith stance on marriage to Will Smith: "Do whatever you want"

Jada Pinkett Smith certainly isn't afraid to tell it like it is.

In a recent interview with HuffPost Live, she discussed the long-standing rumors that she and her husband of 16 years, Will Smith, have an open relationship.

When asked flat-out if they did engage in an open marriage, the 41-year-old actress had this to say: "No, I think that people get that idea because Will and I are very relaxed with one another," said the mother of actor-singers Willow, 12, and Jaden, 14.

She added: "I've always told Will, 'You can do whatever you want as long as you can look at yourself in the mirror and be okay.'"

"Because at the end of the day, Will is his own man," Smith continued. "I'm here as his partner, but he is his own man. He has to decide who he wants to be and that's not for me to do for him. Or vice versa."

The couple has suffered through rumors of divorces, namely in the summer of 2011, when there was speculation that Pinkett Smith had an affair with "HawthoRN" costar Marc Anthony during his marriage to Jennifer Lopez. But the couple crushed those rumors and seems to be better than ever.

"Will is my best friend," she told HuffPost Live. "He's been by my side for some of the most difficult parts of my life. You always have that for your foundation."

Plus, there's always the option that they can do whatever they want.
