(CBS/AP) FOREST PARK, Ga. - Police in Forest Park, Ga., say a traffic stop led them to a man suspected in the death of his pregnant girlfriend in Indiana.

Authorities pulled a vehicle over early Monday and say the driver appeared nervous when officers approached and fled when asked to exit the vehicle.

Authorities say the man, identified as 29-year-old Isaiah Barker, hit a police sergeant several times and continued running. Police used Tasers, pepper spray and batons - which had little effect on the man.

Officials say Barker appeared to be under the influence of an unknown drug and tried stealing a police car. He was arrested and officers confirmed his identity after hours of interrogation.

Barker was wanted in the 2011 death of Cynthia Funches, of Highland Ind.

CBS Atlanta reports Barker is being charged with obstruction of a police officer, assault on a police officer and attempted motor vehicle theft.
