Inside tunnels of Qaddafi's "underground city" (Video)
In a video broadcast Thursday, Libyan rebels explored the long-rumored network of tunnels underneath the captured compound that Muammar Qaddafi used to call home.

Cameras followed a squad of rebel fighters down a ladder into the "underground city" of the elusive strongman's bunker after the compound fell to the rebels Tuesday.

In the dimly lit tunnels, the scouts rummaged through a bedroom and came across bank of black phones, which could have once connected Qaddafi to the world above ground or to other parts of the tunnel network. Former Libyan officials have reportedly said the tunnels connected the Tripoli compound to the outer reaches of the capital city.
A shot of a massive hole exposing the tunnels to the outside might have been the result of a NATO airstrike during the alliance's bombing campaign that aided the rebels.
