Honda Introduces Resolution Honoring Al Gore

Rep. Mike Honda (D-Calif.) has introduced a resolution congratulating former Vice President Al Gore and the United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change for their selection as 2007 Nobel Peace Prize winners.

The measure, which was introduced on Friday, already has 17 co-sponsors, with many more likely to follow.

“Vice President Gore and the IPCC have made keystone contributions to raise awareness and gather political will to tackle global warming,” Honda said in a statement.

“They took a technical issue that used to be discussed in terms such as ‘Keeling curve’ and ‘Antarctic core samples’ and made it real for people and their leaders across the planet to understand.”

Although The Crypt does not know what a "Keeling curve" is, we still eagerly await the floor debate on this one.
