Hollywood Auction

If you're looking for a one-of-a-kind holiday gift for the Hollywood buff in your life, we may have the answer.

This Friday, Dec. 10, you can bid live online in an auction chock-full of memorabilia, from vintage artwork to costumes and props actually used in movies.

On the block are more than 400 items, ranging from old glamour photos of stars like Joan Crawford and Carole Lombard, to props used in movies, to clothing and costumes worn by stars in movies to vintage movie posters.

Lorna Hart, general manager of the auction house Profiles in History, tells The Early Show co-anchor Hannah Storm a favorite item is Bill Travilla's sketch of probably the most well-known dress on one of the most famous stars in Hollywood history, Marilyn Monroe from "The Seven Year Itch."

"It's estimated to be $80,000 - $100,000 and it will easily go in that range," Hart says. The sketch has his signature, and it comes right from the source - his estate. The cost is high also because "costume sketches were the creation of what went on screen in Hollywood," Hart adds.

The dress featured on The Early Show is Travilla's personal touring dress that he made, specially. It's not the original dress that she wore in the film. With any film, there is always more than one costume made to keep the original from being damaged, Hart explains. The lot is No. 113.
