Hilton And Richie Are Back!

It seems that at long last the cold war between celebutantes Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie has finally thawed. "The Simple Life" co-stars were seen dining together at Dan Tana's restaurant in West Hollywood.

"The girls did have dinner together last night. I truthfully cannot tell you what they spoke about," Elliot Mintz, Paris' publicist, told The ShowBuzz Monday.

After the meal, the childhood friends sat on a bench to wait for Hilton's car, a silver Range Rover, to be delivered. They text-messaged while paparazzi snapped ferociously. After the dinner, a source also told the E!, entertainment cable network, that Richie spent the night at Hilton's home in Hollywood Hills.

Hilton and Richie have agreed to film a sixth chapter of "The Simple Life" together, executive producer Jon Murray told The Associated Press.

"The thing the viewers love is the two girls together," he said. "America, Paris and Nicole are going to camp."

The 25-year-old celebutantes will be camp counselors in the newest "Simple Life" adventure, which is set to begin production next month, Murray said. The show will air on E! next spring, he said.

The show will delve into "what led to the breakdown in the friendship and maybe some of the misunderstandings and things that got in the way," he said.

At the height of their feud during the last "Simple Life" outing, Hilton and Richie filmed their parts separately. Murray was going to put the two on a "deserted island with a bunch of survivalists" for the next season when they agreed to appear side-by-side in the show.

"They reached out to each other in universal disdain for the island concept," he said, "and rekindled their friendship."

The feud began a year and a half ago for reasons that have not been fully disclosed. One rumor says Richie played the sex tape Hilton made with ex-boyfriend Rick Solomon at a party that was supposed to have gathered to watch Hilton host "Saturday Night Live." Another rumor said that Richie started a slanderous whisper campaign about Hilton.

At the time Hilton released a statement: "I will not go into the details of what happened. All I will say is that Nicole knows what she did and that's all I am ever going to say about it."

So bitter was the feud that Hilton and Richie could not even be on set together to tape "The Simple Life 5." Hilton tried hard to get her friend Kimberly Stewart on the show, but executives stuck with Richie because of her rising popularity.

The feud continued on the show when Richie staged an interview with an Australian newspaper using a Hilton to humiliate her ex-best friend. Hilton ended the interview and said "Nicole, we need to talk." With that, the season ended.

In an interview with E! News, Hilton said she looked back at episodes from the first season of "The Simple Life" and baby pictures of the two and it "made me almost cry to see how happy we were and how much fun we had."

"It sucks because part of my life is gone."

The pair are said to be tired of the media coverage of their fight and before they drove off in Hilton's SUV were heard saying: "We are back!"
