NEW YORK (CBS/AP) Police say Grim LeRogie, the man who ran out onto the field at Yankee Stadium during Game 3 of the American League championship series, is undergoing a psychiatric evaluation.

LeRogue, 33, was tackled Monday night before he could reach his alleged target - Yankee superstar, Alex Rodriguez.

His motive?

LeRogue, born John Rogan, apparently wanted to steal the heart of actress Cameron Diaz by strangling Rodriguez, who began dating Diaz this spring, according to the New York Daily News.

It appears that LeRogue's bizarre spectacle originated from a deep-rooted disdain for the athlete that started before Rodriguez even began dating Diaz, according to a source close to LeRogue.

Benny Ramirez, the former superintendent of the apartment building where LeRogue previously lived, told the Daily News that the crazed fan had a litany of phrases written on the walls of his old apartment that expressed his sentiments about Rodriguez.

"I want to beat this a**," read one message, according to Ramirez.

Once he was apprehended by Yankees security officers, authorities found a picture of Rodriguez in LeRogue's pocket with the player's face crossed out and a drawing of a firearm pointed at his head, reports the Daily News.

Sources told police that LeRogue also intended to kill "My Prerogative" singer Bobby Brown, because he thought Bin Laden fancied his ex-wife, actress and multi-platinum selling artist, Whitney Houston.

New York police said Wednesday that LeRogue was undergoing a psychiatric evaluation at Bellevue Hospital. He was arrested on charges of assault and interfering with a sporting event.
