(CBS) - "Gossip Girl" star Leighton Meester is suing her mother, alleging that she stole money that the actress had sent to her sick brother and used it for plastic surgery, hair extensions and Botox.

According to the lawsuit obtained by TMZ, Meester would send $7,500 a month to her mother, Constance Meester, so she could care for her younger brother who suffers from severe medical issues.

But according to the celebrity gossip site, the suit claims that Constance - who refuses to work - took the money for cosmetic procedures and other personal expenses.

The lawsuit also alleges that Constance threatened her daughter with a $3 million lawsuit unless she started sending $10,000 a month, because her mother claims they had an oral contract requiring Leighton to do so. The 25-year-old actress, who plays Blair Waldorf on the hit CW series, wants a judge to declare that there was never a contract.

TMZ reported Monday that Constance has filed a countersuit, claiming her daughter attacked her with a bottle in December. The suit was filed in the L.A. County Superior Court.

Constance Meester has a history of getting in trouble with the law. She gave birth to her famous daughter while serving a federal prison sentence for her part in a ring that smuggled drugs from Jamaica to the United States, according to the New York's Daily News.
