Gifford Has Emotional First Day On "Today"
Kathie Lee Gifford laughed and nearly cried on her first day of co-hosting the fourth hour of NBC's "Today" show.
She laughed when she mistook one of her welcoming gifts from her co-host, Hoda Kotb.
Gifford looked confused when she saw what she thought was a bottle of olive oil in the basket, but Kotb told her it was tequila and said "honey, you're probably gonna need this."
Gifford went right into talking about her personal life, putting on one of her husband Frank's old football helmets, mentioning how she lost an audition for "Charlie's Angels" and that she got kicked out of America's Junior Miss pageant for talking to a boy.

She nearly cried when Harvey Fierstein ended the hour by singing a song just for her.
