From "Homemaker" To Running Mate In Four Years

Sarah Palin has had a rocky relationship with the state's other high-profile female Republican, Sen. Lisa Murkowski and her father, former Sen. and Gov. Frank Murlowski.

In 2004, Palin seriously considered challenging Lisa Murkowski -- who was running for a full term after being appointed to fill the seat vacated when her father Frank ran for governor.

Palin eventually supported conservative State Sen. Mike Miller and gave him $300 in July, listing her occupation on federal forms as "homemaker," after ditching her job with the state's oil and gas conservation commission.
