Frank: Republican Party Is In 'shambles'

House Financial Services Committee Chairman Barney Frank said Friday morning that his Republican colleagues have derailed the bailout plan by launching a “revolt” against President Bush.

“I didn't know I was going to be the referee for an internal GOP ideological civil war," Frank said on CBS's "The Early Show."

Later on CNN’s “American Morning” Frank said Republicans have not made a “serious effort” to pass a bill.

“The Republican Party is in such complete shambles that it is hard to do anything serious.”
