Floyd Warren, NY man, accused of biting friend's ear off, tossing it onto highway, report says

(CBS) LANHAM, Md. - Police closed a portion of southbound Interstate 95 in Spotsylvania County, Md. Thursday morning while they searched for a man's ear that was allegedly bitten off and tossed from a car during an argument between friends, CBS DC reports.

Police told the Free Lance Star that motorists called 911 after spotting a man with blood on his shoulder running in and out of traffic near mile marker 121 shortly after 8 a.m. Thursday.

Authorities were reportedly able to locate the ear on the shoulder of the road shortly after responding to the calls.

CBS DC reports the man and ear were taken to the hospital where doctors were attempting to reattach it.

Police have charged Floyd Warren, 31, of New York City, with malicious wounding in connection to the incident, according to the station.

The victim's identity has not been released.
