Drugs and gun found on Nelly's tour bus, police say

The musician Nelly has been added to the long list of celebrities whose tour buses have been pulled over in Sierra Blanca, Texas.

Authorities say they found drugs and a gun on rapper Nelly's tour bus at the  West Texas border checkpoint.

Hudspeth County sheriff's officials said an initial search Wednesday night turned up small amounts of marijuana and heroin and a loaded gun. A later search revealed a duffel bag with about 10 pounds of pot, authorities said.

One of the occupants, who admitted that the drugs and gun were his, was arrested, police say.

In a statement, Nelly blamed his staff member. The rapper said, "Neither I nor anyone else on the tour bus was aware of his decision to bring these."

Previous drug-related arrests of celebrities at the checkpoint near Sierra Blanca involved Willie Nelson, Snoop Lion, Fiona Apple and actor Armie Hammer.
