Dems Begin Final Debate In Waxman Vs. Dingell

The doors have closed in the Cannon Caucus Room and the final round of the Dingell vs. Waxman fight will soon be settled.

John Dingell will make his presentation first to the Democratic caucus on why he should remain chairman of Energy and Commerce, followed by Henry Waxman, who will lay out his own arguments for dethroning the Dean of the House.

Shortly before 9 a.m., Dingell headed into the caucus with a few aides and Reps. Rick Boucher of Virginia and Allan Boyd of Florida.

Asked if he would win the race, Dingell said: "Of course."

We'll know soon if his confidence will be rewarded.
