Dan Lungren Should Never Be Allowed To Serve As A Lifeguard Again

Rep. Dan Lungren (R-Calif.) just made some weird references to his time as a lifeguard in order to justify his support for the Wall Street bailout package.

Lungren's point was that members of Congress, like lifeguards, are not rewarded for preventing accidents, such as when they stop little kids from swimming in the deep end of a pool, or after someone is hurt or drowned.

But how the California Republican went about stating his point in a bizarre, laugh-out-funny way.

"I didn't get credit for saving them after they dove in and broke their necks," Lungren said, a line that evoked howls of laughter from the press corps.
